There are a few things quite magical about destination weddings and getting married in an environment that isn’t familiar. Be that in a gorgeous vineyard in Southern France, a villa in the mountains of Italy or a deserted beach in Mexico. Destination weddings bring a real sense of adventure and romance to what's already an incredible experience.
One of the best things about destination wedding photography is that I can spend longer with the bride and groom either before or after their big day. This is a great way to get to know each other further and help make your special day even more incredible.
Due to the distances involved and potential flights, I, more often than not, try to arrive at the wedding destination a minimum of one day before the marriage itself. This means I can explore the venue and surrounding areas and have an engagement shoot. It'll also mean you get more photographs of your special trip! I always include this option for all of my destination weddings.
Since photographing my first destination wedding in Florence, Italy, in 2017, I always get excited when I have an enquiry to photograph a destination wedding!
I love travelling and have visited lots of different countries such as Japan, Iceland and travelled around America. I love seeing different cultures. If I am able to combine the two, then it really is a dream come true.
Destination weddings and choosing a UK based photographer are becoming super popular and for good reason. More information to why, apart from the amazing weather and surroundings, can be found below.
I being part of destination weddings, and if you are thinking of having one, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
My camera bag is small enough to go on the plane as hand luggage too. I will often check luggage to split my kit so, in the event of one bag going missing, I have backups. So there are no concerns about my equipment being damaged, stolen or lost.
Very good question. In my experience, the language barrier is always one which is mentioned, but one of the biggest influences is the fact that you can build a rapport with your home photographer before trusting them to capture your special day. This also means you can check their style, options, packages and after-sales easily. One of the surprising advantages is actually the cost, mainland Europe is actually very expensive to hire a photographer for the same amount of coverage as a UK photographer would give!
More often than not I will arrange my own travel. This will help take the stress off you and it will allow me to plan my trip accordingly to make sure I get the best out of the venue for your destination wedding. In terms of cost, I will look for the cheapest and best way for me to cover the wedding and submit the cost and details to you.
Of course! This is also true for vow renewals and elopements. Anything I can photograph that is different and includes travelling to amazing places then I will certainly try to help you get incredible images!
Typically my cost is all-inclusive of travel and accommodation. The packages you received would essentially be my Package 2 | Main Event plus, travel and accommodation. I would always get in touch to discuss your individual requirements for your destination wedding.
The majority of my couples who have a destination wedding will have a home wedding/party on return. I offer, if available, a hugely discounted price on covering this event. This means you will have all your photos from your destination wedding and your home wedding in one place and will only have to deal with one photographer for both, saving time and money!
