About Me

Lovely To Meet You!

MY STORY….

So I’m Phil, now in my late-thirties, well 39 to be exact. Born and bred in the Rhondda, South Wales, where I live with my family. One wife, two kids and a hairy, barking, postman hater called Barney. I got married in 2014, so I know full well the stress that comes with making everything perfect for the big day. I used a lot of this experience to craft how I do things as a wedding photographer.

As a kid growing up, I’ve always had an eye for detail and enjoy art and creativity. I studied Product Design at Nottingham Trent University, graduating in 2004. I left the Valleys for a couple of years before returning home.

Hobbies and interests of mine include food….big fan of that stuff. Also, I love sport and basketball in particular. I enjoy mountain biking, but my wife threatened to cancel our wedding if I had a big accident before it as I’d had a few bumps leading up to the big day. As a result of that threat, my cycling adventures are few and far between these days (cue the violin) although I don’t seem to have as much spare time since kids came onto the scene anyway. Funny that.

So aside from all the above, I have been developing my photography skills for quite some time. I’ve been fortunate to make this my new career, becoming a full-time photographer in 2014. I started in my younger years taking photos of modified cars and track days. This led me to my first wedding. A friend wanted some photos (I'm sure this is how all wedding photographers start!) of his wedding. A simple registry office ceremony with some photos in a local park. And the rest, as they say, is history

Can We Meet You To Talk About Our Plans For Our Wedding?

Absolutely! I always encourage a meeting with me to discuss your big day. It's great for me to understand your requirements and for you to meet me as well! The photographer is the only supplier that can be at your wedding for the entire day so having that connection with someone transfer into amazing photos is incredibly important.

How Do We Book You To Photograph Our Wedding?

Get in touch to check my availability for your wedding date first, and then we arrange to meet either at my studio or via a video call to discuss your requirements further. I will send you a link to my private booking page where you can pay the £200 deposit to secure the date.

When Do You Require The Full Balance?

The full balance is due 30 days before the wedding. As the booking is completed via an online system, this can be paid at any time. I can also take part payments at any time during the lead up to the wedding to help spread the cost a little!

How Many Marshmallows Can You Fit In Your Mouth In One Go?

Tough one, I'll have to find out but if I had to guess I'll go with 15.

What Is Your Style?

My wedding photography style is very natural, relaxed and most of all, fun! I believe in capturing the day as it happens. I make the photos about the day and not the day about the photos. I always recommend capturing some formal/group photos. Generally, around 10-12 is usually an ideal figure to cover the majority of close family and guests, but if more is required, then be aware of the additional time to complete. I always look to do these as quickly as possible for you to continue enjoying your day.

We Are Getting Married Overseas. Can We Still Book You To Photograph Our Wedding?

Of course, I'm going to say YES! I love travelling, I love photography, and I love weddings, so it's only natural to want to be part of your big day overseas. You'll be amazed at the cost of your destination wedding photography compared to a local photographer abroad, so please don't hesitate to contact me to create a special package for you.

Do You Offer Packages?

I don't offer rigid packages, and they are all customisable. You can create your perfect package. You even pay for prints and albums after the wedding. Please look at my Packages and Prices page for a full rundown of the options for your wedding photography.

Just let our work do the talking ...

We’ve had the pleasure to work with some of the greatest and been recognised by some fantastic organisations. While I'm not a huge fan of awards, it goes a long way when my couples take time out to vote for me, which I would never ask them to do!
