Llanerch Vineyard Wedding | Rachel + Craig
Massive congratulations to Rachel and Craig who tied the knot yesterday at St Davids Church in Miskin before they carried on the wedding at Llanerch Vineyard.
I photographed my first ever full wedding at this church seven years ago this Septemeber, so it holds a little place in my heart. 🙂
Here a few teasers from the ceremony and reception at Llanerch Vineyard.
Getting Ready
We started less than a mile away from Rachel’s house at the hairdressers, Vous By Lindsey. With only the four of us there early it was a nice and calm and quiet. Which didn’t, last like most weddings! Rachel and her five bridesmaids got ready in her spacious house before making their way to the church in two wedding cars. We arrived shortly after 12:30 (it’s ok to be fashionably late for your wedding yeah?) It was lovely to return to the church where I shot my first wedding back in 2011. Different vicar this time, but he was still lovely like I remember the first being.
The Ceremony
Beaming smiles all around during the ceremony and some lovely readings by the vicar and one of the guests. One funny story by the vicar started by mentioning a photographer, which got me a little worried, and wondered where he was going with it. I shouldn’t have, it turned out to be a lovely story indeed. After the ceremony, we gathered outside the gate to throw some confetti
Stealing Them Away
Whilst my goal is to give my couple something to cherish forever, I am conscious on them enjoying their day. It’s one of the reasons why I never take a huge amount of time for the portrait photos. We always have a little bit of fun during them so I can capture those moments. More often than not i’m 20-30 meters away from the bride and groom taking photos. I can’t hear any of the sweet nothings (or talk about how hungry they are!), which helps to relax in from of the camera. We took one of the wedding cars to the nearby lake for the photos before heading back to the reception for drinks, canapés and group photos. Soon enough they got whisked away again to view the marquee before the guests got called in for the wedding breakfast.
The Reception
Hardly a dry eye in the marque durting the speeches! Some emotional speeches about past family members and reminiscing about memories growing up. We went straight into cutting the cake after the speeches then the band set up to ready for the wedding party. Having run out of time for the required list of group photos earlier in the day we spent some time outside the marquee completing them. After some cigars and the first dance the band kept the dancefloor packed all night! The night ended for me with my customary “wedding present” to the bride and groom, shots at the bar!
