Priston Mill Wedding | Katie + Henry

They got married this past weekend at The Elmgrove Centre before moving to the gorgeous Priston Mill Wedding Venue for their wedding reception.

It was lovely to see Katie’s family again as I photographed her brother’s wedding back last year – which she was a bridesmaid.

Enjoy the teasers of their special day, and for a more extended look at their wedding, please scroll to the end for their highlights slideshow.

Katie + Henry

How Long Have You Been Together?: 2.5 years

Where Did You First Meet?: Bristol

Where Did You Get Engaged?: Lyme Regis, 10th Feb 2018, world’s best proposal.

Why Did You Choose Your Wedding Venue?: Beautiful and rustic. Loved its location and the look and feel of the place.

Getting ready

What a gorgeous house to get ready in. As a photographer, I am always looking for the best light. More often than not, where the bridal party get ready doesn’t always have great light. This was not the case with the huge bi-folding doors and the skylight. Lovely.

The Ceremony

A short journey by car and a small battle to find a parking spot and we were at the church. A slight delay to the start of the ceremony due to a guest getting lost (photo below of the bridal party celebrating the Uber arriving!) later and they were inside giving them vows. It was a typical modern-day church wedding with great songs and readings by guests and family members. They travelled from the church to Priston Mill in their family Moris Minor car, which was in incredible condition.

Portraits In The Gardens At Priston Mill

Even in the middle of winter, the gardens and surrounding grounds at Priston Mill are gorgeous. We ventured for a short walk as soon as they arrived, so they return and meet all their guests as they arrived (due to the 40-minute drive to the venue). I would love to see the gardens in full bloom in the summer, and I can imagine it looking incredible

The Reception

We don’t have many barns like this in South Wales, so its a pleasure to be part of a wedding here. High ceilings, smaller rooms, and chill out areas including, one high above the barn complete this venue.

The Evening

I love it when my couples buck the trend of traditional parts of the wedding day. I’m not a huge fan of cutting the cake moment, but this one was one of the best. They decided not to go to the extravagance of a cake, opting instead for a tower of profiteroles and decided to cut a single one. Chapeau.

Wedding Slideshow

For an extended look at their highlights, please enjoy the slideshow I compiled of their winter wedding at Priston Mill below. The photos below are only a small snapshot into their wedding at Priston Mill. Below you can watch their slideshow of around 80-100 images. Enjoy!
