St Donats Castle Wedding | Adrian + Rhiannon
Here’s a quick look at Adrian and Rhiannon’s St Donats Castle Wedding this past weekend.
We really are spoilt for amazing wedding venues in South Wales, and St Donat’s Castle is definitely one of those venues.
As always, the list of suppliers used in the wedding follows the photos. For a more extended look at their wedding at Bryngarw House, please press play on the banner image above to view their highlights slideshow.
Adrian + Rhiannon
Before any wedding, I sit down with the happy couple to talk to them about their big day along with finding out more about them and their relationship.
How Long Have You Been Together?: 6 Years
Where Did You First Meet?: The New Inn Pentre – a classic local pub!
Where Did You Get Engaged?: Adrian popped the question not far from the Trevi Fountain in Rome when we were on holidays. We are going back to Rome for our honeymoon too.
Why Did You Choose Your Wedding Venue?: Beautiful scenery and the ceremony/reception was incredible.
Getting Ready
Rhiannon and her bridesmaids already had a nearby West house hotel where they stayed the previous night. The bridal party got ready within the conservatory attached to the hotel, which is a lovely light open space for everyone to get ready in. They then made a short journey from the hotel down to St Donats Castle in the wedding cars before ready for the ceremony.
The Ceremony
A lovely emotional ceremony which started from the moment Rhiannon walked in, to the moment and she walked out. Relatively short ceremony for enough time to be filled with some sentimental stories and lovely words.
St Donats Castle Wedding Photos
Like a lot of couples now they have a dog, and the dog is actually almost part of the family so would be rude not to have them on their special day. Bringing Toby along to the wedding reception was a total surprise to Rhiannon and something she didn’t plan at all. Nice one Adrian. A short walk from the ceremony room across the grassy area and down some steps, you can find some incredible gardens at St John’s Castle. The views across the Severn estuary sprawl out into the distance, and because of the tiered nature of the gardens, you get a fantastic view at almost every step of the way, and these views looked even more gorgeous at this time of the day with a sunset in the background.
The Reception
With the incredible weather, most people are sat out on the grassy area where welcome drinks and canapés and some acoustic music was being played. The lights soon faded and ever moved back inside to be entertained by the band and get the party started afternoon after we had shots at the bar, of course.
