St Ives Wedding | Kris + Beth
It’s always a pleasure to be part of anyone’s special day, but to be asked by good friends in Kris and Beth for their St Ives Wedding, just makes it a little more special.
Thank you both for asking me to be part of the journey. I loved every minute of it.
Congratulations!

Kris + Beth
Before any wedding, I sit down with the happy couple to talk to them about their big day along with finding out more about them and their relationship. Kris and Beth are good friends of mine, and I’ve known Kris for years, fun fact, he even shaved my head for the first time many years ago!
How Long Have You Been Together?: 4 years to the day of our wedding
Where Did You First Meet?: A local pub that has a bit of a reputation.
Where Did You Get Engaged?: In Iceland on New Year’s Eve!
Why Did You Choose Your Wedding Venue?: St Ives is our favourite place!
Getting Ready
The rooms at the St Ives Harbour Hotel have an incredible view over the bay; the hotel is built on the side of the very steep landscape above the almost Mediterranean beach below. They took advantage of the large, spacious and airy rooms to get ready, with a small bridal party and suppliers it was calm, relaxed and a quiet morning getting ready before the St Ives Wedding.
The Ceremony
The ceremony room at The St Ives Harbour Hotel is a perfect blank canvas with incredible views across the bay. They chose straightforward decorations provided by the Newquay Wedding company (details below). A very emotional wedding ceremony later and we were back outside to enjoy the welcome drinks and also drink up the views across the bay at St Ives.
Wedding Photos at St Ives Wedding
How incredible, and incredibly lucky, is the double rainbow over the bay in St Ives. The rainbow appeared when everyone was sat down for the wedding breakfast, I spotted it through the slatted windows blinds in the bar and ran down to see Kris and Beth immediately. To my surprise, none of the guests had noticed it! Within seconds everyone has left their food to move outside and see this rare natural feat. We, of course, took advantage of it for some photos, which you would have seen on the homepage for some months now.
The Reception
We eventually made our way back in after seeing the rainbow to finish the food and complete the speeches. With weddings like this, which are very similar to destination weddings, its a very personal affair, often a lot of guests give small speeches and join in, and this was no different.
The Party
A small party but it did not feel like it; everyone was dancing hard and letting loose, maybe as everyone was so close with each other and knew everyone else so well.
