Fairyhill Wedding in The Gower | Sarah+Andrew

Fairyhill Wedding in The Gower | Sarah + Andrew

Congratulations to Sarah and Andrew who tied the knot yesterday at their Fairyhill wedding in the Gower.

It was great to finally shoot a wedding in the new K-Room after seeing so much online after it opened. And it didn’t disappoint.

Thank you so much for asking me to share your special day.

Enjoy the teasers of their special day, and for a more extended look at their wedding at Fairyhill, please scroll to the end for their highlights slideshow.

Getting Ready At Cerrig Glan

All the weddings I’ve photographed at Fairyhill (or Oldwalls) the bridal party get ready in Mulberry House. Mulberry House is one of the cottages close to the venues, so it was nice to see another one of their properties and what a proper it is. The views across the estuary are incredible, especially out of the large windows which cover the entire side of the cottage.

The Ceremony at Fairyhill

Sarah and Andrew held their wedding ceremony in the newly opened K-Room in Fairyhill and when I have photographed weddings here previously, the K-room was under construction, so it was a pleasure to get to photograph finally in this incredible room. I can see why Fairyhill is fast becoming one of my most popular wedding venues in 2020. The K-Room has 180 degrees of windows with lots of natural light flooding in with great views of the woods behind from an elevated position.

Escaping for Some Time Together

You do not need to go very far in the grounds of Fairyhill to get great photos but if you do have enough time, the nearby Gower coast is fantastic for photos, especially at sunset at Rhossilli. Sarah and Andrew’s wedding was held towards the end of April, so sunset happened earlier in the evening, but also the weather wasn’t the greatest due to a massive storm. No problems, a quick venture down the path away from the venue made for some awesome photos.

The Reception In The K-Room

After turning the K-room around the guests were seated. The new Mr and Mrs were welcomed into the K-Room by their guests following my traditional shots at the bar. Speeches followed the meal, and soon the evening guests started to arrive.

The Evening

I would say probably my favourite wedding band of 2019 so far. You can tell from the one photo below they got everyone on the dance floor partying. They played an eclectic mix of songs, even finishing on the lesser-known song by Audioslave. I often go for a little walk around the venue at night to see if I can find any photo opportunities, and one presented itself and I was keen to get something of Fairyhill’s K-Room at night. What better way to do this than a silhouette in a colour which matched the ever-changing light outside.
