A busy festive period for me this year which finished on New Years Eve wedding of Miranda and Kevin at The Exchange Hotel in Cardiff.
If you know Miranda, you know that it was always going to be an incredible day!
Congratulations both and happy New Year
MIRANDA AND KEVIN
I caught up with the happy couple before their wedding to ask them a few questions about their relationship.
How Long Have You Been Together?: 7 years
Where Did You First Meet?: Online (plenty of fish haha)
Where Did You Get Engaged?: Pontneddfechan waterfalls – Glynneath. We went for a romantic walk in the rain with our little princess Jessie (dog), and right under the waterfall Kevin got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. As I have very old fashioned values the first thing I asked, have you asked my dad and are my stepchildren happy. As soon as he had done it all right, I burst into tears and said yes!! We looked around there were walkers taking pictures and clapping it was beautiful. The reason he did it there is it’s one of our favourite walks, and waterfalls mean lucky
Why Did You Choose Your Wedding Venue?: When I lost my dad around three years ago, we went there to have a look for our wedding. We didn’t think we could afford such an amazing venue. As soon as I walked through the door, I could feel my dad all around me. The grand hall blew me away, and I burst into tears and said this is our venue Kevin sealed the deal and we booked it. My dad would if loved this place and it feels so right
This wedding will be featured in Your South Wales Wedding magazine this year which I’m super proud of. Keep an eye on it hitting the shelves soon!
THE BIT BEFORE
The hilarious Ceremony
I’ve lost count the number of weddings I’ve photographed, but this one was hands down the most fun I’ve seen a couple have during the formals. It was a breath of fresh air compared to the nervousness of a lot of ceremonies. The following images capture the fun and enjoyment they had during this part of the day.
The Quiet Time
With so many features in The Exchange, you can grab some awesome photos during any part of the day. Which is great as the surround areas aren’t the greatest for wedding photos.
The Reception
The grand nature of the room at The Exchange works well with a New Years Eve wedding, especially when the theme is black tie like this one.
The party and seeing the new year in
With almost 200 guests and the bar open way past midnight at this New Years Eve wedding you know the atmosphere was awesome.
Wedding Slideshow
The photos are only a small snapshot into their New Years wedding at The Exchange Cardiff. Below you can watch their slideshow of around 80-100 images. Enjoy!
