Fonmon Castle Wedding | Kate + Harry
Congratulations to Kate and Harry who tied the knot at St.John the Baptist church, Llanblethian before travelling to Fonmon Castle for their wedding reception.
My first wedding at Fonmon Castle, it’s always great to visit new venues, especially one with grounds as lovely as this one.

Getting Ready
The first part of the day was spent in a local hairdresser which one of the bridesmaids works. Pretty handy having a hairdresser in your bridal party! After the final touches and dresses were put on, they hopped in the wedding cars to make the drive to the church in the Vale of Glamorgan.
The Church Ceremony
The church was a lovely little church in the small village of Llanblethian. With most of these smaller parish churches, the parking is often a nightmare, and this was the same! This meant that the wedding cars couldn’t get too close to the entry, which was pretty important considering the horrific weather. A few umbrellas later their smiles didn’t diminish, and they were inside the church. Harry is part of the army, so it was great to see some of the military uniforms and Gurkhas in attendance. A military exit with swords and some confetting throwing in the rain later they were heading to Fonmon Castle.
The Wander Around Fonmon Castle
As mentioned, the weather wasn’t the greatest, so time was limited to venture around the gorgeous gardens at Fonmon Castle. We stayed relatively close to the main house using the amazingly coloured hedgerows to block the view of the guests so they could get away from it all.
The Reception and Evening
The reception was held in the marquee at Fonmon Castle, which is something they only erect for a certain amount of weddings per year. This was great as the main house is full of smaller rooms, something which doesn’t mix with a large wedding party such as this one. As the evening guests arrived and the night started with the band playing some fresh and different songs. The pathways to the castle were lit up with lots of lanterns, so I had to take full advantage of this after we had some fun with the sparklers.
