Gower Wedding With Incredible Details | Kelly + Michael

Gower Wedding With Incredible Details | Kelly + Michael

The weather didn’t stop the smiles all day this past weekend at Kelly and Michael’s wedding at Oldwalls Gower. My second wedding in as many months at this incredibly well run venue, and it never disappoints. A shame that the terrible weather didn’t allow the customary fireworks at the end of the night. This didn’t spoil the day in any way. More often than not some of the best weddings are ones where the weather isn’t the greatest. Maybe being inside and closer to a bar helps? Who knows?

I digress.

Here are some of the teaser photos from the day. Hope you enjoy!

Getting Ready

We started the day with Kelly, her bridesmaids and family at their gorgeous home in Llanelli.

The whole family were super welcoming and friendly. Pretty much “forcing” me to try some of Kelly’s mother homemade rissoles, which apparently are legendary, and I can taste why. After the usual calm start and frantic finish, the bridal party jumped into the wedding cars to travel the short distance to the venue.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place in The Oakroom at Oldwalls Gower. The ceremony room decorated with an incredible flower arch at the end, which was stunning. The ceremony began with a beautiful reading by one of the guests. The ceremony concluded with Kelly walking down with her bouquet in the air in celebration. It was a moving ceremony, full of so much love and nervous giggles.

After the ceremony, we did some family photos, which I think are really important. Then the couple mingled with their guests, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. I got some lovely couples photos in the reception room as we were unable to venture outside due to the horrible weather. A first this summer!

The Reception

I love it when I see a magician arrive at the wedding reception. And none better than Phil Jay. He consistently blew people’s minds whilst casually walking around the venue during the welcome drinks and canapés. The talented Chris Jones played an acoustic set to keep the guests entertained until the call through for the wedding breakfast. The hilarious speeches were after the wedding breakfast in the marquee at Oldwalls.

After The Reception

As mentioned the weather did not play ball but that didn’t stop us getting some time alone with the two them to get some incredible shots. We used the gorgeous marquee and undercover doorway leading into the reception at Oldwalls. I didn’t mind getting a little wet providing we get something awesome!

The Party

With Kelly’s dad involved in events and entertainment the music was always going to be awesome. A kind of festival feel to it with two bands, an acoustic act and a DJ.

The first band was the excellent electric from Music HQ and the second band was Liverpool based band The Rats. The rats have signed to play at a large festival in Ipswich and earmarked to be part of Ed Sheeran’s brand and music endeavours.

Thanks for an amazing day, have an incredible time on your honeymoon. See you when you get back when I deliver the photos!
