ST TEWDRICS HOUSE WEDDING
Vicky and Sam got married at the spectacular St Tewdrics House, Chepstow, on Saturday. It was a stunning summery wedding, with lots of flowers and small personal touches everywhere. The couple met in school and have been together for over 12 years. They are just the loveliest people. And was a pleasure being with them all day, from 6am until midnight!
St Tewdric’s House is a new venue for me, and one that did not disappoint. The addition of outdoor weddings in 2019 will make this an incredible venue. I would love to be part of your wedding in 2020 and beyond, so please get in touch!
BEFORE TRAVELLING TO ST TEWDRIC’S HOUSE
Vicky got ready at their home with her bridesmaids initially then moved to venue mid-morning to finish bridal preparations, and there was such a relaxed vibe getting ready despite the 1-hour drive between the venues and the risk of running late. She wore a fantastic dress by Welsh wedding dress designer Catherine Parry and looked so beautiful.
Sam got ready at a local hotel with his ushers and best men, all six of them. They wore a tweed suit by Dyfed Menswear and looked really cool, which was ironic as they all got a little hot due to the incredibly warm weather.
THE CEREMONY IN CHEPSTOW
The ceremony took place in a beautiful church not far from the venue called St Mary’s Church in nearby Chepstow.
After the ceremony, they walked down the aisle together and made their way outside for the guests to throw confetti, which I love photographing. Vicky, Sam and the guests then travelled to the reception at St Tewdrics House, which was less than five minutes away. When everyone arrives I got some amusing candid photos as they enjoyed the afternoon sun outside of the venue. The weather was all sunshine and blue skies, it was a beautiful day.
THE RECEPTION AT ST TEWDRICS HOUSE
Vicky and Sam chose to have their wedding at the venue because they just fell in love with it when they first visited over two years ago. St Tewdrics House is a 19th-century Italianate villa set in acres of fields, and it’s got such a beautiful feel to it, especially in the gardens around the wedding venue where the guests spent most of their time because of the fantastic weather.
For the reception, the couple had organised plenty of arrival drinks and the most amazingly tasty canapes for their guests. Everyone was then called in for the wedding breakfast, which they chose to have the speeches before the food was served. All the speeches were superb, some full of emotion and so funny – especially the two best men’s speeches.
Despite grabbing the two of them for some photos in the afternoon in the grounds we seized the opportunity to get unto the nearby fields for some incredible pictures in the evening sun as it set.
THE PARTY AT ST TEWDRIC’S HOUSE
After the meal was finished, they cut the cake, and the evening kicked off with the first dance and a father-daughter dance. The live band, Jukebox, played all the best songs to get everyone dancing. They also had an outdoor pizza oven for all their guests which was a nice touch.
Now that the photos have been delivered to the happy couple I’m happy to add their slideshow to the blog post. Please enjoy a longer look at their gorgeous wedding at St. Tewdrics wedding venue.
